Final Phantasy Star by Phaedron Phuriel Introduction Final Fantasy, a game that is mostly medieval and a bit futuristic at times, meets Phantasy Star, a game that is mostly futuristic and a bit medieval. The story presumably takes place in the future of that world where Zio and the Four Fiends are cloned along with a host of bio monsters, robots, and demons. You play the role of four hunters each of whom has a different backstory. The hunters guild was created to train monster slayers, but when they found out where the monsters were coming from the Sages from the Esper Mansion, who own the hunters guild, decide to launch an investigation into the activities of the central government, which rules over the whole continent at this time. The sudden increase of monsters was just a warning, as the four fiends themselves are to be revived and entrhoned in the four great power plants or dams that tap into the Earth, Ocean, Volcano, and Sky and that provide power to the whole land. Gameplay Notes: The shot cures all status in battle, but outside of battle it only cures stone. Moondew cures death outside of battle, but you have 0 hp until healed. The Dimate and Trimate heal the whole party, even in dungeons, and if you load a save you'll just appear at the entrance with current stats at the time of save. After delivering the dynamite you need to take the ship through a secret pass through the mountain texture and finally to the blue whirlpool surrounded by caves. Companions You have 12 characters to choose from at the beginning of the game. 3 of these (the purple) gain techniques that destroy robots, which are the undead exclusive type. The Agent, Esper, Slayer, and the first Cyborg use heavy armor. The second cyborg and numan are unarmed fighters (black belts) Hunters are Ninja / Red Mage types. All characters are well balanced and have a unique selection of spells. Equipment and Spells All items and techniques are from Phantasy Star or Final Fantasy. If you have never played a Phantasy Star game you will no doubt be confused when the choics in the shop menu are Foi, Wat, Gra, Sar, Res, Rimpa, etc. A complete list is included here and in the other document which contains tables and is coded in microsoft works. Otherwise you can look up the spell lists for Phantasy Star 2, 3, and 4 for comparison, but your characters can't actually learn more then the three spells for each rank, in most cases, so it's not like you can make many mistakes. The shops are arranged as damage spells, healing, and positive and negative effect spells. You can also see a sample of battles on youtube. Look for Final Phantasy Star. Many items also have an effect when used in battle. Some of these are important and there are towns folk who will tell you about them. There are staffs which half the damage the party recieves from various elements, for example. Walkthrough 1) Purchase weapons and armor at the hunters guild and fight the fire ants till you reach level 2 2) Purchase spells (there are 4 shops: damage, healing, time, and melee. (buffs and curses) 3) Head north. If you have the Wizard or Priest you can buy Flael at the Esper Mansion beyond the cave. 4) The Tower of Nido in the desert is optional, but there are many treasures. There are all robots here so if you have someone with Gaj it's a good place to fight, but don't waste it. 5) Have either some healing or brews if you need them for fighting Zio. Recommend being level 4 or 5. 6) From here it's a long trek to the next town, and there will be better upgrades at Central, the town after that. 7) Travel south and west and across the long bridge to reach Central. 8) From here you can head far north, getting the ship, or north, to the dwarf caves, but it's best to go south or west which lead to a long series of caves. You will need to retrieve the recorder from the bio labs to get the key, which you will need for all of the major dungeons. 9) After getting the recorder consider going north to the dwarf caves and finding the esper mansions runaway princess. Talking to her will warp you back to Esper Mansion where you can turn in the recorder. 10) Now you just need to go back to the central to get the keycard, and head to the far north where the boat is found. 11) Once you have the boat you can reach 5 places: Uzo Island, Keuri island, Island with a shop, The bird shaped Continent, and the fish shaped Continent. This largely depends on whether you want to attack the Earth Fiend first or the Water Fiend (weak to laser weapons) The Earth will get you the Remote for the airship (required for Fire) and the Water will get you the Decoder (required for wind palace). 12) The Dynamite is found in an abandoned castle on the bird continent, the quest items needed to enter the water fiends dungeon are found in Keuri and Uzo Island. When you beat the water fiend you need to get the Telepipe, and enter one of the control towers to get the Keytube which you will need in the Wind Palace. 13) Beating the Fire Fiend opens the way to Desolis, where Megid and the strongest stuff is found, while the treasure of the wind palace allows access to the Abyss, where the Eclipse Torch is kept, along with the demons who seek it out and become trapped there. 14) Once you have done everything you should be able to talk to the princess in Esper mansion to get the Laser harp, if not you can buy it at the secret Bazaar, along with other rare items and quest items, but dont waste money on those unless you want something early 15) The Temple of Fiends features a stronger version of each fiend and a top floor where weaker fiends are encountered as normal battles. Early Excalibur / Elsydeon challenge 1) Take the canoe all the way to the wind palace and through the mountains in the south. Save and proceed very carefully. If you can manage to reach the Aero Prism (which I think is given to you by the Robot or found in a chest) and whatever else, leave. The townsfolk will tell you that you need the Telepipe, but really you need the Telepipe to enter the control tower to get the Keytube without which you cannot go further then the first two floors in the wind palace. Presumably you need the Telepipe to even enter the castle, but that is a false rumor. 2) Buy 4 Talismans to protect from instant death spells. 3) Take the ship all the way north to Desolis and go west to the Abyss. It resembles the temple of fiends. 4) Save. The enemies in here will mostly cast instant death spells, you should be able to run for the most part. 5) If you managed to get the Eclipse Torch and escape take it back to Esper Mansnion to recieve the strongest sword in the Game. If you're not sure, try doing this challenge next time. Since there are 12 characters the game is good for three unique playthroughs and you can do the fiends in different orders. (Note the below is copied from the works document included in the main download so please excuse the formating problems) CHARACTERS and LEARNABLE TECHS Each of the four colors (Blue/White, Red/Brown, Green/Azure, Purple/Orange) gives you a Heavy, Medium, and Light armor class. Since You May choose any of the 12 from the beginning there is no class change event, but an optional character Change event. The result is only a slight variation of techs and status, but is not recommended. The Wren types led a successful Revolt and escaped from Climatrol after it was taken over by the forces of Zio. He hopes to do what is necessary to repair the damage to the planets eco-systems. She learns all the healing techs, except Altaraxia, and gets 2 Hit all spells, Psi and Vol. Magic defensive is a bit higher, but HP starts very low. The extra inventory space these characters provide is very helpful. She was born In the Lab to be another mindless monster, but turned out to be uncontrollable. She since learned to heal at the Esper Mansion and joins the guild to help out. His Tech isn’t remarkable, but his Damage spells are good ones. The Agent came from Central Command to infiltrate the Hunter’s guild, but It makes no difference. Though not an experiment, he was genetically modified to be physically superior. DOCTOR COLOR SET Brown. WEAPONS Knives, Scalpel, Vulcan ARMOR Cloth, Crowns, Gloves MAX MP 9 of every level. She is the only character that is able to use Megid nine times. The Doctor comes from a richh Family in Arima. After Losing someone important to monsters she questions everything about her heritage And joins the guild to help find and stop the cause of the increasing rise of monsters. Well the Wizard Is the only character to have a spell for every occasion and five elements. Later he can use the Shadow Sword, which is stronger then any sword the Priest can use. His wizard magic are also stronger then normal techs. ESPER COLOR SET Blue WEAPONS Swords, Staffs, Axes, StarMyst ARMOR Robes, Suits, Capes, Shields, Crowns MAX MP 5 in every level. She gets Altaraxia, but Doesn’t get Nasar. She gets 4 hit all spell levels (psi, efess, legeon, tandle,) and the Wat spells. She also has Above average magic defense. The Wizard and the Esper both join the guild representing the Esper Mansion. MOTAVIAN COLOR SET Brown WEAPONS Axe, Hammer, Sword ARMOR Heavy Armor, Heavy Gear, Heavy Shields MAX MP 3 of every level. ROLE Tank, Damage1 Flaeli 2 Warla 3 Deban 4 Conte 5 Saner 6 Rimet 7 Brose 8 Megid The Motavian features the FF5 Beserker sprite and uses the Axe or the Sword, though in most cases the Axe Will Be a better choice. With very high HP, strength, and hit, he and the Agent are the toughest leaders. He Becomes strong and hopes to one day meet others of his ancient warrior race that have survived somewhere. PRIEST COLOR SET Green. WEAPONS Sword, Staff, StarMyst ARMOR Cloth, Robes, MAX MP 9 in every level. He uses Altaraxia instead of Nasar, which is stronger, and frees up Miracle; thus making him the best healer. He Comes from the far north sensing the spiritual unrest of the coming evils his journey leads him to the guild. WRECKER COLOR SET Purple WEAPONS Knife, Magnet Knife, Slicers, ARMOR Cloth, Rings, Capes MAGIC Gaj, Eijia, Forsa, all ranks of Tsu and Gra. Regen, and many Order techs as well. With this Melee advantage and 9 shots of 3 spells that destroy robots he would seem the better Wizard, but that’s Where the advantage stops. Decided to make wrecking things his job, especially robots. Joined the guild to Make some money, put his skills to use, and do his part to reduce the renegade robot threat.
